Upgrade - POI?

Hello,

I've got the 2004 version of the DVD. Does anyone know where I can find (does it exist) a list of the updates included in the latest version that I can put in an 06 model?

I'm less bothered about the roads, but more the Points Of Interests. I've only had the car a couple of weeks and love it, but it would be useful if there were more Points Of Interest - such as supermarkets, McDonalds etc... It seems there aren't many points of interest stored on mine....

Thanks,

John

The latest version is summarised by Navteq as:

From the wilderness of Scotland to the French Riviera and from the fiords of Norway to the tip of Italy, this map update from NAVTEQ is the ultimate driving companion. You can reassuringly cruise across breathtaking and diverse countryside, or simply navigate your way around the assorted mixture of towns and cities. This update is more than just a map, it includes 6,623,073 navigable kms of roads and a total of 1,195,495 Points of Interest.

This European map includes the following countries: Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Germany, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain, Portugal.

Land Rover Part Number: YIW 500260

So best start counting......

You've probably got DVD version 500012 or 500013 if it's 2004 maps (500013 for an 06MY car). 500200 had big improvements to POI and later versions will be better still. Give Nick a shout at Yeovil if you want the latest version, he should be able to do a decent price. Be warned that if you do update to a new DVD you will lose the ability to use the 1791 code and will have to pay a dealer to activate destination entry on the move instead, although once programmed it works every time rather than having to key the code every journey.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Thanks very much for the reply - that's helpful. I've tried a member search on here for a Nick - but don't think I've got the right one. If you're reading this Nick - please could you PM me, or would someone else mind giving me his profile name?

Thanks,

John
