Upgrading 2011 to 2012?
i assume the interface upgrade on the 2012 is more than only a software update?
The new look/info for both the centre screen and the instrument panel display and link up with iphones etc. are just that much neater than what I have.

The 2012 software might look nicer but there's a lot of reports of 'clunky' operation that's very slow to respond. You may get people asking if they can downgrade to the 2010-11 software!
After having a loaner 2012, I'd like the central info display upgraded (between the dials) but you can keep the rest of the software... it's like a Commodore VIC20 running in treacle with a 28 baud modem during a power cut!

Thanks crewscontrol, Dangerdave's smooth sales patter was just wearing down my resolve to stick with my current motor for a couple more years and invest in a LR extended warranty instead - plus a further 18 grand's worth of goodies of my own choosing. I tried one on Wed. Nice but mine is nice too. The 8-speed was smooth, the knob for it is too bling popping up and down. Just silly! The 255 hp was nice but I don't use the top 25% of the 218 (?) I have very often.
