Does anyone use an iPhone 7 in a MY10 ish D4, using the supplied ipod cable, with an adapter. I know there are ways around, with Blutooth adapters, etc. Just wondering if it can be used? MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

Mines a 2010 and the adapter works fine with my iPhone 7. Does need to be a genuine apple adapter to have full functionality though. IID Tool

So my D4 had the lead attached to the iPhone socket in the top of the cubby box lid already attached. Only thing I bought was the adapter to I could plug in my 7. My experience of the adapters in the past is if its not genuine you will only get charging facility and no audio.
If you have genuine adapter it may be worth taking lead and adapter to your nearest apple store and they will check functionality for you. IID Tool

I have an LR Black iPod cable and a genuine 30pin to lightening adapter with a short fly lead that I used fine on my iPhone 6. Itβs stopped working with my 7 though. Says accessory is not supported. D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Iv not used with the extension/fly lead. maybe that is your issue. The adapters do get updated and older ones do not always support newer phones. IID Tool

Yes sorry I meant the adapter is one with a short lead in the middle rather than just being one small 'brick' if you know what I mean.
I think it's slightly older stock so has become obsolete. I really need to buy one of those bluetooth adapters but there's always something else to buy first! D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

So, Iβve ordered 2.
1 is a connector with a 6β cable between connectors. Other is a 1 piece item.
Cable one has arrived. Car sees phone, but says there is a problem. Play Spotify, and it recognises song, and names it on car screen, but only plays 1-2 seconds before pausing.
Same with amazon music. 1-2 seconds then pause.
Any ideas? MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

I echo the point about it needing to be a genuine apple lightning adaptor. Also I have to have a certain side up or else the remote control on the steering wheel wont work. I just marked the side.
Cannot help with your problem directly only to say that my car is a 10 plate, I have the genuine l/r stretchy connector, I phine 7 and a genuine lighning adaptor (brick type) all works fine Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π

Thanks. Mines a MY 10. Got a replacement jlr cable, and genuine Apple adapted. Have to wait for the brick version to see if that works. MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

You may have already tried it but if not, take the adapter off the jlr cable, turn it over and put it back on. I have experienced this weird thing when I had my D2 with a hands free kit that was designed for an i phone 5. It worked fine with the 5 but with the 7 it just wouldnt work. Turning over the adaptor fixed it. Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch π
