five times! Wow, my dealer told me it's a two hour procedure. Did they charge you?

In which part of the Netherlands are you living?
I think there is some confusion going on. The Nav discs sometimes give a software update, giving different options and improvements. You can borrow a newer disc use that for the software update and then use the older disc for the maps again.
Nav on the move makes it possible to input adresses etc while on the move (by the passenger off-course  ) In d3's from 2007 somewhere this is enabled, on older models you need the dealer, TFC? or Wiggs. It is a long process, 2 hours if everything goes right the first time. It took me a few days longer but that's another story (lesson). Roel

You have a perfectly acceptable disk for the update ( after 2006 will work fine )
The dealer needs to apply the patch for the sat nav on the move first , then they must reflash the Touch screen software afterwards.
This is a long process ...up to 3 hours sometimes . Make sure they have some sort of battery charger / power connected at the same time . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hello all,
been searching for a solution to this problem on my late 2006 range rover vogue, I tried the 1791 option but no joy.My car was in at my local dealer today and i asked them about changing the option for destination entry on the go and they said it couldnt be done.That together with losing the tv function with digital switchover, they didnt inspire confidence. So does anyone know if it can or cant? I assume its the same kit on the disco.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I've come to the conclusion that nothing is easy with the Disco3.
I'm the rather embaressed owner of a '54' Disco3 - one of the first that limped off the production line (I say embaressed only because it has been a sense of much laughter amongst friends and colleagues having spent so much time in the garage)
Looking to update the sat nav, option is to buy a cheap disk on line to avoid giving the thieving scum at our dealership any more money but question is how do I install it. Is it relatively straight forward? Or is going 'cheap' going to cause endless problems?
Any help would be apprecited, Cheers.

The newer disk wont give you sat nav on the move ..it will give you updated maps .
Dvd player is located under the passenger seat ..pop out the old and replace with the new . Sat nav screen should show a progress bar while it updates .. for about 3-4 mins ..thats it all done G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Looks like the 2008-2009 disc is about £40 (ebay special). More than adequate and better than the £140 I was quoted for the latest disc if fitting is as simple as suggested.
