V8 Aux belts
My D3 2005 V8 with 115k miles needs new aux belts incl. both tensioners. I have no unusual noise at the moment. Since most threads are about Diesel engines, I assume it's the same for the V8, isn't it?
Do you advise to use genuine tensioners and pulleys or are 3rd party pattern ones as good?
I read pulley PQR500350 should be renewed, too. Any other ones?
I will swap alternator and water pump as well.
Are there any other parts that should be swapped out? Idler PQS500480? Bolts?

Did mine at 105k and to be honest the belts and tensioner were fine. The idler bearing was little lumpy though.
Genuine for me

Did mine at 106K. Tensioners were absolutely fine so didn't bother. Water pump also. I had a spare alternator for a couple of years but sold it on with the car as the existing one was also fine.
There are a couple of good videos on YT on this job. I'd recommend you do your research if doing it yourself as the fan is an absolute to remove unless you have the proper LR tool (the water pump has three bolts so viscous fan wrenches are practically useless). Atlantic British have a good video but there are others that are equally useful. Once the fan is off the job takes no time.
Strongly recommend you go OEM if changing the tensioners also. Alternator is a Denso PAGODA

I've always changed the water pump at the same time when doing the belts in my previous cars.
How do I know if it's still in good shape? It doesn't make any unusual noise.
Did you changed any pulleys?_,,,_______///________

Why do you need new belts? are they visually perishing or are you changing as precautionary measure or is there a service requirement for changing? I check mine regularly but would only change when signs of deteriation. On 187k now and both belt look servicable with no concerning noises.

The belts could last for another few miles. I would change them as precautionary measure. British Atlantic service schedule say it’s due at 105k but some here say it‘s at 150k.
@kajtsu: thanks for the link and part numbers. These are the same I picked to swap._,,,_______///________

AB lists it as a suggested interval but indeed for petrol V8 the official schedule states that it’s 150k miles (~240k km), it’s 105k miles for the petrol V6 and for the diesel TDV6 as we know. I assume that time based replacement is also valid so whenever the vehicle is getting the corresponding service even if the miles haven’t been reached.
I changed mine early since the belts looked slightly cracked.
