a stupid question probably:
can a kinetic rope be used as a normal tow rope?
A kinetic is normally way too long to act as a highway tow rope. Also, as the kinetic is like a big elastic band, it would be exceedingly difficult to use as a normal tow rope (and quite probably very dangerous)....... Disco 4 TDV6HSE

I did not mean as a "highway towing rope" but as a normal recovery rope. Not "jerking" recovery?

As i understand Kinetic ropes, they are not meant for "jerking", so much as gently but progressively taking up the slack... not using a "Run-up" as some are led to believe.
although with no actuall experiance with them, i am open to be correctedD3 TDV8 HSE on order, Should Arrive 2017. If i'm lucky.

It will work as a last resort but you are likely to ruin the elasticity of the rope and you should not use it again for a snatch recovery

Thanks Andrwew, Smarticus, Sijui and Karl for your answers,
I relaunched the question as a new thread.
I guess not too many people read the old thread to the end...
