If it's got Ad Blue then it will be a 16MY. 16MY went on sale around June 2015.
Got my letter yesterday - dated 29 July and registered for the batteries using the link.

It's not the registration date that matters, it's the model year. If it's got Adblue, as it will have if registered after mid 2015, it will be a 2016 model year (2016MY).
Glad you got it sorted.Gary

Yes, thanks all, it has AdBlue, and the VIN number chart from MrTed confirms it.
It's a MY16.
The supplied pouch is a bit smaller than the one I'm already using, but it's a nice to have a fresh one.Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

Pouch looks a bit naff compared to what I've got, and only one pouch, got 2 remotes!

And you shouldn’t store both keys together anyway.
The battery idea seems good but getting the added electronics inside the same case is going to reduce the capacity of the battery itself so what happens when it goes flat?A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

I got my letter last week too.
Asked for the batteries, maybe up to 6months delivery!
Has anyone got any of these batteries yet? They appear to be about £100 a pair on Amazon!Disco 4

But will fitting these batteries reduce our insurance premiums?
No.
When JLR sort a recall for a software/firmware update for our D4's then we'll see if that makes a difference.
As my insurance premiums increased 100% this year when my 2015 (technically MY16) is approaching 10 years old is ridiculous quite frankly. It's not a sooped-up RRS costing north of 100k. I get what the insurers are saying but we are being tarred with the same RR brush, which is a bit unfair.
Currently my D4's premiums now cost 5% of the cars current value and will probably increase each year while my car's value depreciates. I hope by January something will change otherwise i'll cry for a bit Discovery 4 HSE late 2015 Euro6

Nothing has appeared my end.
Although rather amusingly, the insurance for my landmark is the same as the freeby 2 my gf now has.
Despite being 2 years newer and over double the value.. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Got our letter today, dated 7th Aug so it was probably kicking around the delivery office for days along with the now late birthday cards for our son. I'm sure they only delivered today as I placed a collection request & therefore had to turn up.
Anyway, batteries requested, Keyless already disabled, Diskloc fitted & keys hidden away in a tin.
The wait begins for A a request to book it in for the update. B, The possibility of the batteries turning up.

Just got an email to confirm my sleeping batteries have finally shipped…… only 5 months into the 6 month target LR set themselves
Same email reminds me that I still need to book into a dealer for a security software update but that they will let me know when that is available for my vehicleCorris Grey SDV6 D4 2015 HSE

A ex cop colleague of mine works as a driver on JLR events. All brand new FFRR SV or Autobiography top of the range (all in white) are the vehicles they use as JLR fleet.
They did an event in the SE of England close to London back end of last year and parked up 43 vehicles at the end of the day in the hotel car park.
Next morning there were 40 there. 3 stolen and a further 3 with holes punched in the drivers doors in apparent states of theft.
Now JLR employ a security guard to patrol the car park where the events vehicles park up.
Seems like keyless entry is now secure for the current thievery but taking the vehicles once inside seems still to be very possible indeed.Jim

So has anyone actually received the "wonder batteries" from JLR yet?
