Vibration - shaking car

This evening did a run up the motorway at 75mph, after about 15 minutes there was a gardually increasing vibration that increased enough to be almot shaking the vehicle. At first I thought road surface, then tyres, then didn'tknow what to think!

Slwoing down to about 60mph, and then gently accelerating back it just gradually disappeared, Finished the journey about 30 miles cross country no problems. Then on the return (towing an empty trailer) at about 65mph again after 15 minutes on the motorway the same symptoms. Again slowing down by about 15mph and speeding up cured it, and it was fine for another 30 miles or so, mainly motorway.

As its dark and raining i havn't been out and checked anything, but any suggestions?

Its a 55 plate SE Auto with just over 100k on the clock, an nearly due its 105k servcie

EPB shoes binding?

If it does it again, try stopping and touching the rear wheels - you may find that one of them is extremely hot Question

As already said, you should have a think (quickly!) about stripping the brakes down. Could be epb shoes or binding caliper. My money wOuld be On epb shoes.
Have a look in my signature for a link that may help. Thumbs Up

Yep exactly as others have said, I had that exact same thing, shudder builds and vibrates the car. It was the epb shoes jammed, not fully on or off so just enough to cause friction and as speed increased the sticking translated into juddering. Although wierdly it was not regular sometimes it obviously released just enough to no shudder for a bit.
