What's the safety on the safety Timble? That you can't get it winched in to far?
I would go for the Hook, for the hook I don't see a real point in the safety part.
Mine will go in till it gets to the hook and stops there. I don't see a real difference.
Maybe one. Your shackle will be able to swing freely and my hook is more or less pulled thight flat.

My hook doesn't go into the winch:

And a good hook has a safety so the strap can't fall out.

A detail: They compare a small hook with a steel cable to something with a rope. With a rope you need a good eye. That eye will be 90 deg off with the hook and so you can't pull it in the winch.

This is my personal opinion, No hard feeling if you think different.

At least with the hook the thieving bar Censored can't (or more difficulty) steal it.

The shackle would be gone in 60 seconds... yeah, you could stow it in the motor, but it would always be burried when needed in my experience...

I have my rope in the car unless I go off-road. Within 5 minutes I have it installed. I hope the rope survives a little longer keeping it dry and out of the sun etc.
