VPLAT 0135 Towing Harness

Hi all,
I've carried out a lot of searches here but I'm still struggling.
I'm swapping my 2009 D3 for a 2016 D4 but the D4 has no Towpack fitted.
Due to a rear end shunt, my D3 has a nearly new Tow Ball and 12N/12S Towing Wiring Loom. I understand that the D3 Towing Wiring Loom (YWJ500201) is different from the D4 (VPLAT0011) only because the end plugs within the car are different.
Is it possible to buy plug adaptors and if so, what are they? If not, I'll purchase the VPLAT0011 (12N/12S) and fit it myself.
There seem to be conflicting opinions as to whether the towing electrics need to be enabled. However, I have the IID BT Tool. Am I correct in assuming that I can use it enable the electrics?

Thanks in advance Very Happy

They do work without enabling but the vehicle doesn't know they are there. So sensors etc still come on in reverse.

Also have some 13pin d4 tow kits available Thumbs Up

You may find that on the 16MY the original loom has connections which end above the bumper bar and you just need the loom from there. Pre 12MY I think the loom ended in the rear left boot area and the kit had a loom which connected there and ran to the top of the bumper with a second loom from the top of the bumper to the tow bar.

When I bought mine from maltings they sent me the earlier kit and I wasn’t very happy until I realised I just binned the first part of the loom and fitted the second part.

Thanks all,

I've opted for the VPLAT0135 due to my caravan having twin sockets and I'll look closer at the enabling via the IID Tool if and when required.

***** Edit *****

For reference, The above wiring harness was simple enough to fit and as the caravan lights and fridge all work correctly, I have only used the IID Tool to update the CCF to; Towbar – Yes and Towball – Fitted. I have left the Trailer Module setting at the default setting.

Cheers
