| [Wanted] iPhone 8 (or newer). |

I have finally persuaded SWMBO to throw her dinosaur of a Nokia in the bin and buy an iPhone.
Does anybody have an iPhone 8 (or later) lurking around in a draw somewhere collecting dust please. Must be in VGC (preferably with no scratches) with a good battery life. She is very particular, that's why she married me

Have a look at giffgaff, just about to order a pair of refurb sim-free unlocked phones for my kids. Seem very reasonable on price.

During premises insurance inspection my iPhone 8 SE literally slide off a cistern and into the pan……
Retrieved within 5 seconds, dried quickly and ooooooh still tooooooo late, battery cooked the motherboard. The exchange went along what must be typical lines at the IT repair shop.
“I thought they were supposed to be water resistant from iPhone 7 onwards”
“If you could have removed the battery you may have saved it”
“BUT it’s an iPhone, what!!!”

The iPhone batteries don’t take much to go on fire tbh. Any contact with water or flex on the actual battery, you know, the iPhone gets bent, is enough.
