Warning lights when releasing brake pedal.

I started getting the amber warning lights on the dash (ABS /Brake/+one I'm not sure of) and also 'System fault special programs not available' message.

I've plugged reader in it, and showing - P1935-00 Brake switch/sensor signal.

After some research on the forum, I thought brake light switch.. So replaced switch and made no difference at all Big Cry

So this morning after looking again, I've worked out the message/lights come on when the pedal is released Confused

Nothing to do with the brake light switch, as I've pulled this out and left it hanging (still connected) and I can press the brake OK, it's just when I lift my foot of again, I get all the warnings + access height only.

I'm confused Confused

Try replacing tye brake bulbs, the filiments can drop down down and short accross to the tail light circuit

Should have said - got D4 LED taillights.

Also, brake light switch removed from mount and just hanging down.. But pressing brake still triggers warning lights, without been anywhere near the switch Confused

What else can be happening when pressing brake ??

If you’re getting same fault when the brake switch is disengaged it could still be the switch. If it’s gone open cct and is not making contact when pushed then you’ll get the same state when it’s not
Pushed. They have a habit of getting corrosion on the contacts. They’re cheap and as you know are easy to replace so worth grabbing one and swapping them out.

But I only get the fault when I press the pedal.. even though the pedal is not connected to the switch in any way.
The switch is removed from the mount and hanging free (still plugged into the electrics)

Does it only occur when stationary or when moving as there are a lot more sensor that come into play. If the pads are worn etc etc. As said, could be the switch, disconnect it and see what happens.

Fault fixed Thumbs Up

Just bought a second new switch and it's working perfectly.

Just shows that new items can also be faulty occasionally.
