My washers seam to leave un-wetted arears on the screen - is there a correct position to aim the washer jets to in the workshop manual?

This is very dependant on vehicle speed. I aim mine to be about an inch from the top of screen whilst stationary so that at 100 kph they hit the screen lower down. Couple of squirts then does the trick. I also add screen cleaner to the mix.
