Does anyone else have problems with their washer jets blocking up? Mine seem to do it on a weekly basis, and if I don't clear them they blow the pipe off the underneath, meaning I have to reach behind the sound deadening to reattach.
I'm in a hard water area so I wonder if that's anything to do with it?

Not had an issue with either of mine in over 4.5 years... hard water could be the thing.
Try some water softener or just use pre mixed washer fluid.

Yes, the hard water is almost certainly a factor. It seems to for flakes of scale that can make it through the pump and pipe, but not the jet.
I use water from a dehumidifier to fill my washer bottle, as it is just condensed water (OK, some dust but much finer than flakes of scale).
Some people suggest adding vinegar to the water, but in my experience it rots the pump and pipes, making it a real no no.
Try using a britta filter jug or a water filter type tap to fill from; this will make a big difference, but you should really flush the bottle first; try detatching that pipe and getting it in a jug, then emptying the bottle with the pump. A couple of goes of this using the filtered water should reduce/stop the problem.Dr. Ian Malcolm:

I'm in a hard water area too so I save the water from my condensing tumble dryer for topping-up washer and coolant, (along with the relevant additives of course!)
Or, as Simon says, just use the pre-mixed stuff.Clive

What an excellent idea. My wife will be delighted at my new found enthusiasm to empty the tumble drierRichard
its the bits that dont cleaned out.....
I use a strand of picture wire (the brassy looking twisted stuff you hang pictures with) its just the right diameter to "broddle" out the hole & sufficiently stiff enough to get into the actual hole...I find if I do this then work the washers bits of debris get blown out.
I find the super window washer fluid concentrate that Halfrauds sell....works with the water here in Halifax.
I keep some of the picture wire in the car to do the business....it worksBREXIT - done properly.

When SWMBO Rover 25 did this I attached my ARB compessor to the airline and turned it on. This cuts out at 85psi. Which it did . After about 20 secs it blew all the out the nozzle and has worked fine ever since. Maybe not the best solution for a D3 but it worked for a cheap 25HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Have the same issue, trying with the air,but I'm sure depends on hard water cause I can see a deposit around the nozzle.
Next step will be de-mineralizated water, unluckly no drier in my family.
Otherwise I'll use all my tears!!!!! figuring it out!!!!
the best feeling:getting airborne.
