I have my IPOD Video hooked up to my Harmon Kardon audio but would really like to be able to watch videos etc via the screen 
Is this possible or is it just wishful thinking ?

I think it is just wishfull thinking Discod.
But have you tried contacting Prestige Audio, one of this sites sponsors for advice? If it is possible they will know how to do it.  Arctic Frost RR Sport. TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Tow pack, PTI, Privacy Glass, Tasmods, Mudflaps & a RRSport umbrella in the boot.

The dock for the 5th Gen iPod has an S-Video connector on the back which is probably a good start for playing with getting video out  06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
