Out of interest I popped the reg of our old D3 (part-exed for the Volvo a couple of months ago) into the MOT history website.

Was astonished to see that not only did it pass with no advisories (somebody has either spent a whole pile of money or.......) but it's also lost nearly 8000 miles since we sold it.

Sure, could be an honest mistake. But just in case, am putting this on here in case anyone gets burned and needs to speak to the one owner from new who ran the car for 10 years. Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

8k seems an odd low number? Surely if you can clock a car, you’d do it properly!

Yeah - like the D4 I had which got a nice ~100000 km rejuvenation treatment somewhere between Italy (around ~260000 km) and Finland (only ~167000 km).... Whistle

remember back in the day, my mate used to have taxi business, he bought an old merc and before taxi test decided to shave some miles off it Neutral , anyway think it had around 180000 on the clock and when he opened clocks up there was a sticker saying "Oh No not again" I was ill Laughing Laughing Laughing

On a more serious note, i use an app on my phone called KnowYourCar. it allows you to put any plate number in and tells you mot due date, tax ect, but also tells you full mot history and also miles since its previous mot, even puts miles into a graph so at a glance you can see if the miles has a decrease over the years. handy app for keeping an eye on your vehicles and it holds your plate info into a so called garage so not putting in all the time. can also tell you locations of nearest garages to you if needed.

If you look at the MOT history, the mileage is still going forwards, its a cheap win.
