If you had an altox with their add on fan kit you can run the Fbh and fans to get the in car temp up but it would probably be a good idea to have additional battery capability, also it’s fairly inefficient as you are also heating the coolant for the car.
 Must stop buying shiny toys....

What is a wasabo?? You mean Webasto?

As darrind said... will cost too much battery power, even with an auxillary battery... will not last a night...
Second a Webasto Thermotop V or Evo is not programmed to run longer than an hour...

OR fit a webasto airtop if engine preheating is not important, only camping, cabin warmth . airtops are easyer on your battery, because the electrical car system does not have to be “online” for proper functioning (fan is integrated then) and... and you can run it from a second auxiliary battery.. which is smart to do...

On an Airtop, it is also possible to add a thermostat.... so you have warm air, all night long, at a set temperature...
 Best regards
Harold

ahh now that's a good idea

I wonder if there's space under the bonnet to fit one and then tap into the same ducting for the cabin heaters

I reckon to fit an aditional heater under the bonnet would be madness, never mind the lack of space, if you have no rear a/c that means the entire nsr cubby space is free.
Whatever you do make it totally stand alone from the cars electrics, ie its own battery and fuel supply.

Some good info on the canal boat forums, they use blown air and hot water systems, webasto and eberspacher models, and nowadays many are running the cheap chinese heaters, whole kit for less than a 100 quid, but they do need the genuine web/eber exhaust flex pipe and silencer as chinese one is meant to be poor.

Airtop is meant to be mounted in the cabin itself!

No hassle with pipes, it heats/ blows direct in the cabin... like in lorry’s 🚛
Maybe only a little pipe for flow direction, thats it..

Forget the bonnet...

AND forget CHINESE heaters if you love your life!

Really i do not understand people with the cheap chinese stuff... especially for these purposes

Webasto And Eberspaecher or every other European brand even USA brands are extensively tested within certain “rules” (norm?) do knot know the english word for it... sorry

Is one leaks a tiny bit, you and other people sleeping in the car, are DEAD! Carbon monoxide is sleeping death... you never know....

yes you are right as its a night heater id be using it for im best going for the European version rather than Chinese

to be fair I would always run one using a carbon monoxide alarm in the cabin too to be double sure

the cubby box is prob a good place for one Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

And beware of ebay ones, as there are a lot arround designed for specific car brands, like VW caravelle or lorry’s.... who do NOT work in your motor......you need a “universal” one, meant to be used in campers or boats, who can be controlled with universal webasto or ebarspaecher control units...

I have no connection to this firm, but have a look here.., these are what i mean...
Prices are in Euro’s so in GBP 10% less Wink
