My first D4 I’ve had Land Rovers before but this is a first for me.

Just wanted to say a proper hello,
Been on here for a few months doing massive amounts of research before buying our 2011 Landmark in Santorini black.
Kicking myself for not buying one years ago. 108k on the clock, drives like new, comfortable and makes me smile more than my 3 series m sports ever did.
Thanks to those on the forum I've already met, also if there's anyone reading this having just purchased a Discovery, updates by bodsy. Don't hesitate just book him in !
Hi,
have upgraded from a D2 TD5 after 12 years to a D3, now learning a whole new set of Land Rover foibles to work. Have used a lot of information from the site - so just want to say Hi and thanks,
Charles.

Joining the club!
Hi All,
After coveting a Landie for many years, I’m looking to finally join the club.
Looking at a Disco 3 S or SX. My question(s) is, what should I look out for when viewing?
What are the common faults/ what are good signs to look for?
I nearly bit the bullet on one I’d found on AutoTrader but was pipped to the post by a day. However the seller has emailed me to say the original buyer is pulling out (Bad news in the family) and asked if I am still interested. Being suspicious, my concern is the buyer has potentially found a fault and that’s the reason for return.
Finally, are AA Inspections a waste of time? They seem it from the little they check. Are there any Landie specialists that offer a similar service?
Thanks in advance.
Ash4d86.

Take everything a seller tells you with a big pinch of salt
These beasts take a lot to keep them in tip top working order, but if you find a good one it will put a big smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel.
Use the search button above and search for buyers guide, make yourself a pot (not a cup) of coffee as you have a fair bit of reading to do, don't jump in theres plenty about
Happy hunting

Hi Martin, I am looking to buy a Manual Disco 3 for towing. I thought it would be a good idea to learn something from enthusiasts before spending my cash. I have previously had 2 Disco 2s, currently I have a VW 4 motion transporter, which is great fun but it’s no Landrover. Any tips or steers to current threads on buying a Disco 3 would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Paul

I’ve searched the forum for a buying guide. Several link come up but none that have a guide on what to look out for?
Anyone have such a link?
Potentially going to see a Disco on Saturday!

Welcome pilot and Ash.
As suggested by Sea Raider if you click on the search function at the top of the page (under the logos) and look for buying guide/buying a D4/buying a D3 you wil get lots of results. Then settle down and have a read.
There is no one topic/thread that covers a Buyers Guide as such as that would be longer than the manual (which no one ever reads )Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack
Bodsy's remote for FBH

Welcome Denny. It’s probably better for you to start a separate, appropriately titled thread, in the correct Discovery 3 Technical section to get exposure and answers. This is just a welcome thread and your question is lost.

Good Evening,
New member from Plymouth. Will be in the market in the very near future for a D3 XS/HSE for European/North Africa touring, and hope to gain knowledge from people on this forum.
I've actually been kicking around for about 6 months, reading every little bit of information i can get. Now i felt it was time to create an account.
