Well it's here! - D3 HSE arrival
Hi everyone!
On Friday I collected my (new to me) Disco 3 TDV6 HSE. I've had a D2 V8 for the last 18 months and decided I needed to consolidate the job of two cars into one so my Audi S4 and D2 V8 have become this D3!
I collected the car on Friday in Newcastle having driven down my S4 and given it its last hurrah! I'll certainly miss its power and handling but I must admit, after driving the 260 miles home again in the Disco, I had all but forgotten my S4! 33mpg average, uber comfort, amazing headlights and very quiet. Superb!
I gave it a damn good snowfoaming when I got it home, swapped it onto my personl plates and have spent the weekend driving everywhere I can!

I have only had one slight issue with the car so far. My iPhone 3GS integrated first time when I collected the car. However, since then i've found that it connects but when someone calls me the phone rings through the bluetooth system but upon answering reverts back to the handset so i need to select the audio source as the car again in order to hear the call. The caller can still hear me normally though. It's probably not the best place to get answers on this so i'll post the issue in the technical section.
Anyway, i'm utterly delighted with the car and I am looking forward to many years of happy and adventurous motoring in it!

Looks very good . Don't like the side steps though. Well, good to carry the body guards I guess... The older I get, the better I was.

That is certainly a beautiful D3 you have there. I am happy for you and wish you the best of luck.
As for the 3GS problem mine works a treat. Do you have the latest firmware installed on the iPhone? Have you tried a reset?2000 Discovery 2 Kent Green (totaled) R.I.P.

Nice one James, I do like the colour coded wheel arches, unfortunately a 59 plate was outta my price range so traded in the FL2 for an 08 plate instead...

One week on and i'm loving it.
It seems to be connecting to the iPhone fine now and my address book seems to work so all i need now is to get my music off it!!

Yes, the plates aren't strictly legal but as one of my immediate neighbours is the top dawg at Grampian Police and he hasn't said anything in 4 years of displaying it in that format, not to mention a few MOT's i'll continue risking it! I do have a full set of completely legal ones secreted in the car incase things take a turn tho!

Looking good. I'll certainly keep an eye out. However, if i waved to every D3 I saw i'd never have two hands on the wheel; they're everywhere up this way!

Well having had it a few weeks and finally got my mudflaps fitted I gave it a really good clean and took some pics:
I'm so pleased with the car. It really is a fantastic vehicle! Can't wait to get it towing!

Just don't mention the awful blurry area at the far right of the image (grille area) thanks to a 9yr-old's sticky fingerprint on the lens.
