Wet head lining!!
Good morning folks, two days ago I parked facing a different direction to usual on my slightly slanted drive, this I believe highlighted my latest fault. I believe I have a leaking upper sunroof drain. The O/S A pillar was wet at the head lining.
I believe this means that the joiner in leaking rather that the lower section as it’s wet up high rather than just down low, it could also mean that it’s backed up all the way from bottom to top.
Anyways, is there a guide or some pictures / video that anyone knows of detailing how to drop the head liner at the front?

remove
A pillar trim (torx bolt under airbag logo)
probably remove sun visor
remove grab handle
remove lower B pillar trim by pulling out (maybe sill trim need removing first)
remove upper B pillar trim by pulling downwards
now headlining should come down. Un peal from door seals

Check the outlet of the pipe first behind the front nearside wheel arch, they have a nipple on the end that tends to get blocked, it’s usual procedure to cut it off, be prepared for a sleeve full of water a wire like the ones used for curtain rails or a length of nylon strimmer cord can be pushed down from the top, do not push to hard or you will disconnect the pipe at the top.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi
Plus 1 what pete has said but may I add, please disconnect ur battery because when u disconnect ur lights the power supply to the light can earth onto the roof
Get some clear gloves and ensure to keep them clean otherwise any dirty marks will be hard to get out the headlining
Hope that helps a little

Thanks folks, got a couple hours this morning to investigate the issue.
Couldn’t find any evidence of a leak anywhere!!!
The drain on the drivers side was totally clear.
I’m stumped
Did however find that this may have been tackled before....

The thing that has me baffled is that as far as I’m aware the leak occurred when I parked with the drivers a pillar at the highest point given the slope on my drive! So how and why is that the only area that has got wet???

I have the same problem with MY2016 Discovery Sport - roof leaking (no sunroof). Started occurring after dealer delivery (before first service). Multiple failed inspections including pointless replacement of windscreen.
The cause is as outlined in JLR LTB01176 Technical Bulletin Water Ingress Through the A Pillar - Upper Area, published 29-Mar-2018. Known manufacturing fault - water ingress stains on the ceiling between front passenger grab handles and top of the windscreen, caused by certain body panels being manufactured away from the required specification.
Going through consumer tribunal ATM to get car replaced with new or used vehicle of same or higher specs, with max. km based on calculated km travelled (from annual service statements) either side of 29-Mar-2018, being the date of issue of Jaguar Land Rover Technical Bulletin LTB01176. Yawn
