What's this about?
OK, so I changed my discs and pads last weekend and decided I'd also do the sliding pins. Each front caliper had an odd pair of pins in. What's the one with the black rubber piece in from? I've never even seen one like that for sale! The passenger side disc was getting much hotter than the offside, but they're fine now. It's got me worried that my Indy has no clue what they're doing, or I don't. One or the other.Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."

Iirc its one per calliper, a search should come up with something as Ive seen info about this before.
Think they are basically anti rattle pins.

I see... 🤔
Well, given that all my brake related problems started with the 'service' of the brakes (at which point I'm assuming these pins were fitted as they weren't there two years ago when I checked them myself), I'll stick to the plain metal ones... They don't squeal anyway.Jaguar Land Rover: "Building great cars, badly."
