Whats my D3 worth?
2006 SE Auto, 204,000 miles, D4 front brakes fitted, new front lower arms, new prop, pirelli ATR's, late D3 colour coding done with the correct parts, AMK compressor, tinted windows, Osram DRL fogs, front PDC added, recent steering rack, tie rods and universal joint, newer FBH fitted.
The bad bits........it's due a service, including belts. Fuel pump whines at times. Gearbox needs attention, new TC or rebuild. Touch screen unresponsive. Interior looking a bit tired.
I still drive it most days so it's not un drivable!
With all of that in mind can anyone give me an idea of what it's worth as it is?

From your experience how many ££££ are we talking for stripping over selling?!

Prob a good bit more than the value, and that’s at realistic prices. Lots of parts in the car that aren’t normally available and get snapped up. I could only strip the car taking the easy bits with limited time, knowledge, tools, space to carry and energy. If picked to the bone I’d have thought you’d easily get treble that estimate.

That's interesting
Without sounding utterly thick.........what are the sought after parts and most profitable?

Can’t remember what went quickly, was too long ago, only a few bits were left. Accessories/extras sold quickly.
“Profitable” is a bit of a misnomer, it was a case of see what prices were on EBay from beakers, and what bits sold for on here, and price accordingly. If too high, gradually bring down until sold. Lots of bits were just a few quid, but a few quid is better than nothing. It’s surprising how the small sums added up, along with the big ticket items like seats, wheels, hifi, electronic modules, etc.
I left lots and lots and lots on the car, i barely touched the oily bits, plus I had to leave a newly reconditioned gearbox.

I love to learn a new word so thank her from me
How do you feel the ride quality/handling of the D4 is compared to the D3? And just the car in general?
