EGR sounds right...had mine done at 49K....does it accelerate really slow, until about 2250 rpm then the turbo kicks in?
Very sluggish when cold, but at normal temperature its seems fine.ONE LIFE - SO LIVE IT!!!

Disconutter, this is exactly what mine is doing - I think its temperature related, because is never does it unless you've been driving for an hour or so - and the ambient has to be fairly high and normally straight after kickdown.
My intercooler is in need of cleaning, but its not something the dealer has ever commented on.
They have read the fault codes and its fuel pressure - they have changed the fuel filter, but that didn't help.
Its going back in again on Tuesday for possibly a few days so they can have a good look at it.
Funnily enough, since I booked it in, the service warning has come on- giving me 200 miles notice! So I subsequently booked that in too at the same time.
I'll let you know any more info when I have it!
Hi,
My friend with D3 has exactly the same problem. Local LR dealer has changed all fuel pumps and sensors and this still did not cure the issue - his car spent last 5 weeks at LR garage ....
Do you have any updates by any chance how the issue was fixed for you?
Thanks D3 XS Manual - gone

Hi Hijack... very briefly. I was experiencing very sluggish from cold, and lots of black smoke under heavy acceleration. So I blanked off the EGR's with the small plates (bought on eBay £6.50) but didnt remove the butterfy valve. On a long run turbo shut down twice? had codes checked showed up as EGR valves. Had new EGR's fitted, now everything is Hunky Dorey? Mechanic said to keep the turbo clear, give it a good thrashing
occasionally? I am definitely going to get a remap soon, as I understand this makes sooooo much difference.
Hope this has helped..ONE LIFE - SO LIVE IT!!!

Thanks Disconutter
My friend has MY07 car so cannot blank EGRs, and as far as I know had them changed anyway
I was wondering if anglefire had his problem sorted.D3 XS Manual - gone
It was back in las week for 2 days for this, a service and a couple of other warranty bits.
They couldn't get it to fault when they test drove it.
I have hinted that the radiator and intercooler is pretty badly mucked up, but they seem to be ignoring me - as It only ever faults when its been on a run - about an hour or so, and driven at motorway speeds - and an ambient of over 20'C, an then hard enough acceleration to kick the box down - at which point it faults.
It will be interesting to see what happens when I start towing my tinting!Mark.

As I've said elsewhere, I've changed the intercooler myself the other week and I've no had the fault come back - but then, since the weather has changed it hadn't done it anyway.
But I'm pretty sure that this will sort it out. Pete from BAS also suggested that the intercooler being blocked causes quite a few issues such as this.
If if comes back next year when it gets warmer, the dealer can have it back to look at again - warranty is good till June Mark.

Agreed, changing intercooler is the next step but spent couple of hours trawling through here and RRSNORT.CO.UK. This problem seems to be quite widespread but without a deffinate fix. Quite a few peeps have had the error & loss of power but no reoccurrence, mine is a bit more persistent. I did wonder if was full of Tunisian sand but the error didn't occur with temps up to 42c and fair amount if full throttle.
Mind you, if we understood these problems life would be too easy!
