To be fair, we have a single Hermes courier who is actually very good.
So do we as it happens. In fact we don't have any issues at all with deliveries because we have nothing of value in our porch and leave it unlocked to allow deliveries to be easily made. The only time the ring doorbell goes of is when the next door neighbour (who refuses to leave their porch unlocked) is receiving something and the courier tries to leave it with us - given the number of times during lockdown I have been disturbed from conference calls etc while working from home because of their laziness I now have a bit of a "f*ck off" attitude to that situation - said courier then has to expend a tiny bit more energy by putting neighbours stuff 'round the back', which they should have done in the first place instead of attempting to bother me! Tryfan's a lovely spot, but in trainers and in the dark? Why?
As for the idiots that needed rescuing, requiring a hefty donation to the MRT would seem to be the minimum they should get away with.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

That won't happen they will be too busy paying off the fine. Absolute idiots.

The lack of disincentive the in the Covid fine . is £200 is nothing. £2000 minimum might make them think about things and £25,000 for those that organise parties etc. They should also have to spend a week moving and processing the bodies in the morgues.
My daughter is a final year at Uni training as a paediatric nurse. The hospital she is in is so stretched with staff on sick leave or isolating that it is close to collapse. Also, thanks to Brexit, there is a significant shortage of ICU nurses. What has shocked her is how young some of the patients are and the number of bodies she sees being wheeled out of the wards. And she does all this for free!

MR are in a really difficult position. Pre Covid we always tried our hardest not to shame those that needed our help, and not to give a space to those that would do ‘in our defence’, principally because we would never want someone to come to harm because the negative consequences of receiving help would be, to them, too embarrassing etc. This is something that got more difficult as we needed to publicise more on social media to fundraise (search and rescue in the U.K. is in the main a voluntary activity, unlike Europe etc.).
With the risk of the virus being spread to and from operational members we need to support the overall message, whilst being impartial and non-judgemental to those that need our help, lest they put off calling due to fears of coppers waiting at the bottom for them with fines in hand. There have been cases where rescues could have been effected earlier with people put at less risk if the call had been made before time.
Not saying one way or the other, just that it’s a tough situation for all involved 🤷♂️

My first "proper" trip out after my little spinal trauma was to Tryfan
Guide is a mate and he was pretty clear on kit needed - and he checked everything we were wearing before we set out.

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
