Wheel alignment - via any tyre place?

Hi. My 65 plate D4 needs its rear wheels aligned , as one of the tyres is wearing on its outer shoulder. I was going to get new rear tyres and a 4 wheel alignment check. Is this alignment check something that I have to do at a Land Rover dealer / specialist , or can use anyone who has a hunter machine.... I’ve seen threads stating you have to put the car into certain modes, but not sure how specialist this all is, and whether my local regular decent tyre independent can sort it.

What’s the view??

Anyone with a hunter can do it. Assuming they know how to use it correctly.

The advice is as it's always been, go here https://www.alignmycar.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQ...gKMFvD_BwE, find your nearest alignment centre and take your car to them. Don't worry about tight tolerance mode as hardly anybody bothers with that.
Most LR dealerships sub out the alignment to the nearest Hunter equipped centre. Wink

The alignment place will give you a printout showing how far out your car was and how it complies after alignment.

The figures will be out if you don't use tight tolerance.
I have checked the figures with the alignment heads on, in both std & tight tolerance & it makes a difference.

Thanks. Is that something the garage will do, or do I need to set it? If so, how?

Well, as the local LR main dealers don't even bother with TTM when they send their vehicles for alignment, what difference it makes is minimal in the least.
Will it be a bit out, probably........will it effect the handling or alignment in any way, probably not. Rolling Eyes

Requires iid, SDD, or some other form of test equipment to set/unset tight tolerance
Not many tyre places have got the equipment, thus they spin the yarn it's not necessary.

I agree it 'might' be ok, by why not try to set to the best setting first time?
