Wheels & Tyres

Have a chance to buy 4 x unused RRS Wheels with 255/50 R19 Pirelli tyres, V 5 spoke type wheel. Have tried to pop a pic in below but may not work, otherwise see www.landrover.com/gb/en/Vehicles/Range_Rov...wheels.htm . My D3 has 255/55R19 tyres, can these RRS wheels be used on a D3, as I understand it they should be just a little lower but not much. Other worry is insurance co if using tyre size not specified in handbook.

They have new tyres on & are £400 for the set.

Any thoughts??

Derek

Its been done before but beware the wheel is wider something like D3 is 8J & RRs is 9J. so it is close. There is a thread somewhere Would suggest you at least put the 55 profiles on and sell the 50's.

Thats the route I'm going down if I cant source another 2-3 19" HSE alloys soon

Just seen that they are 9j & mine are 8j so will leave all alone. Just wanted to use up the tread & put more off road tread on for latter once the kid gloves are lost.

Tx anyway

If they're coming from the 'normal' source and you're making a trip up there Ken can you swap my duff one whilst you're at it if you go before the Rockingham weekend

I have RRS 19's on my D3, and they are close on the suspension upright, but they dont touch, and look good (pics in gallery). I've put 255/55's on to keep gearing correct, and also the 55's are load rated at 111, which is what the D3 needs, unlike the 50's which are generally load rated at 107.

For this price, go for it.

Hi DSL, first of all you need to create an album in the gallery and fill it with piccies:
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=477

And then post them:
