Where's the best place to sell my D3? ....... |
|
Coz I'm getting a D4!!!!
I am surprised at the apparent residual value ther is in my D3 - according to some websites. So instead of trading in, I thought I would go for the private sale. Any tips on the best publications for selling Discos?

Just my experiences with Autotrader:
I bought my D3 through Autotrader. Was a good experience. The chap put an advert up, it was exactly what I wanted so I called him and bought it the next day.
A year later I tried to sell an L322 FFRR on Autotrader and all I got was repeated calls from scammers calling up saying "Hallo. I want to buy the car. You ship to Africa?". Combined with the a few time wasters it was a waste of time!
Not sure what conclusion can be drawn from this though!

I put my last D3 on autotrader and hardly got a sniff. it was 18 months old with 15K miles. Ended up letting it go for a song on e-bay classified so really wary of going down a rat hole! Plenty of bucket-shop purchasers though. (webuyanycar....) D4 HSE MY2015

Sold my last car - a KIA Sorento - through WEBUYANYCAR.COM got well over trade in value and the money was in my bank account three days later as promised.
One tip - be honest with the condition of your car when you fill in the on-line questionnaire BECAUSE they do inspect it when visiting them - I was but forgot that the fan belt was 'squeaking' (cant here it as I have Tinnitus) but he could so agreed a price of £75.00 for fixing it which was all that was taken off their on-line offer.
And they give you back your tax disc so as I had 9 months of tax left that more than covered the 'fan belt'. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF
