Which is Webasto pin 2? My GSM remote won't work |
|
I'm in the process of installing Danhag's GSM remote control on my MY 2005. In Danhag's instructions pin 2 is given as the bottom LEFT pin in the connector. Others who have made their own GSM remote, say that it's the SECOND from the left in the lower row. I have connected to the latter, as there was a wire (red) already connected to this.
Obviously my remote isn't working, and I'm trying to figure out why. I can communicate with the unit by SMS to configure it, but it won't start. Could also be that it doesn't use a W-bus signal but a 12V out?

As yours is a 2005, then it probably used to have the software to make it work - but it didn't :bulb:
I would chop the red wire going into to pin2 - if you can take the plug out, the numbers are in the moulding. - so that you have enough wire to fit a through crimp or spade connector and wire back to the new remote.
It could also be 12v not w-bus. Mark.

Thank you for that. Does your reply confirm that pin 2 is actually the SECOND from the left in the bottom row of pins in the connector, and not the FIRST?

From memory its the bottom row and 2nd from left as you look at it plugged in.
