Which Roof bars

I need to get some roof bars fairly quickly but not sure what to go for.

Either the LR jobbies or the Thule offering.

I like the LR ones as they look less fussy but my dealer is quoting £168+VAT whereas the Thule ones I can get for about £140 plus P&P

Whats the difference and which are the best.

Cheers

I got LR ones and they are very good.

However, if I was buying now i would get Thule aero bars in as long a size as possible, simply because there are more accessories that are compatible for the narrower section of the Thule kit.

There's nothing wrong with either version, you just need to consider what you might want to carry up there. And what accessories you might want to fit, that should decide it for you Thumbs Up

If its the standard LR black roof rails I was quoted £124 from Yeovil LR via 'the large one'. (£10 courier)

I've jut fitted a set of Pro Rack bars - www.prorack-international.com - bought from roofbox.co.uk. They have not been officially launched in the UK although they will be soon. I started of with a set of Atera bars that were an enormous PITA to fit. roofbox offered me a set of Pro Rack bars in their place and I am supposedly the first in the UK to use them. The company claim they can remain fitted with no detrimental effect on fuel consumption. So far I agree. Wind noise it almost totally absent and my fuel consumption has not changed. There is a video on the link above that shown then being tested in a wind machine.
