Which Suspension height for MOT?

Tomorrow sees the 2nd MOT on my motor. It's booked into a small Land Rover loving family-run local garage that's been trading since the early 1900s but it's going to be the 1st D3 ever tested there!

I'm thinking that it should be in off-road height when it goes on the ramp for that part of the test. Am I right? Key in or out?

I can't see what difference it would make.

I wouldn't worry...Their aren't many 4x4s, let alone cars that can do the off road height trick, so I would suggest it doesn't matter Smile

If it 'bongs' one more time, I'm gonna drive it off a cliff!

it will be interesting to see how they perform the braking tests ........ Shocked
I presume they'll have to do this on a road with that old-fashioned meter thing ( ? )

Yup they will use that old-fashioned meter thing for sure and the handbrake test on the hill. Thats if they find the handbrake Rolling with laughter

Id keep the vehicle on the standard hight setting, because part of the MOT is to check the dipped beam if they adjust this when its raised your lighting will be off when you lower the vehicle Wink

Don't they just use a rolling road to test the brakes?

Yeah thats what the bigger garages use but hence the above quote

"small Land Rover loving family-run local garage"

Had a couple of MOT tests at this garage on my D1 and they certainly don't have a 4 wheel version rolling road!

However, I have seen the ornate wooden box with brass fittings on a shelf there!
