Whine of a Strained Electric Motor on Locking

Since the last service, I've noticed the strained whine of an electric motor on locking the D4, it doesn't do it every time, it's not the door motors, I'm 99% sure of that, it appears to be coming from the Rear Offside Wing, between the Rear Door and the Fuel Flap, pretty sure it's not the Fuel Flap Lock as that is towards the rear of the fuel flap. So my question is, what electric motor is situated in the rear wing between the Fuel Flap and Rear Door, unless it is the motor for actuating the fuel flap lock Question

Mmmmm, Do have the same sound lately, started me wondering too...

On my previous D3 the fuel door lock went broke, disconnected the wire, all oke, but no lock anymore.

Could be the same problem in my humble opinion....

Investigated further, not concerned by it, it's still under warranty, will get it looked at when it goes for the next service. In the meantime I've located the manual unlock so if it fails at least I can open the flap.

Mine does it, capacitors I think. Normal part of electronics.

Definite whine of the Fuel Flap Motor.

Mine does it intermittently but typically the dealer couldn't find an issue when it went in. Been doing it for years and never failed. Thumbs Up

Probably given kiss of death!! Embarassed

Just noticed this with mine. Is it something to do with the cold weather ?

My D3 did this intermittently, until I realised it was the passenger door mirror motor that kept straining after it folded in. A squirt of silicone grease freed it up.

Egrs butterfly valves on hold while their lever are pulled with vacuum actuators.

The sound will eventually be gone after few seconds when they are released. If you watch the sides of the engine, you see a black plastic rod that, when released, stops the whinning sound
