whistling
noticed yesterday that i can here a whistle from the engine, rises with the revs and can even hear it on start up. if i open the window its rather loud and when lifting off i get more like a short blast of air sound. Does sound like turbo whistle but ive never heard it this loud before.
There was a post round here somewhere about stuck turbo actuator causing this type of noise, but cant find it .
Am pretty sure it was accompanied by a ' reduced performance' message tho.. so if your car's not complaining suspect it is nothing serious
D4's are usually pretty good at throwing up errors associated with turbo Cheers Ian
