Whistling noise from engine

Good day Guys

I have very recently I noticed a whistling noise coming from the engine of my 2007 HSE TDV6. The noise is loud when cold but eases when the engine is warm.

The whistling noise come in from 1900 to 2100 RPM on revving up and then goes away. When the revs come down from 3500 to about 3000 on revving down it reappears and it then gone.

Yes I did have a new turbo put in by LR late last year under maintenance plan but the plan is now finished and I am too scared to show my face at the stealers lest they remove more of my hard erned cash from me.

Any thoughts on this?

Possibly a leaking turbo hose (based on you having it replaced recently)

Does it make the 'noise' when stationary or only when driving (difference being the engine is either under or not under load)

If it does it when stationary, try and locate the noise with the bonnet up, whilst a 'friend' revs the engine up and down etc.

Other whining/whistling type noises can be: A/C pump, Alternator, PAS pump, Water Pump, Viscous fan, Aux drive belt bearings, HP fuel pump

Quite a few I suppose Whistle

Hey Guys

Since posting this I opened the bonnet and revved the engine.... no whistling. I then went for a drive round the block and the whistling is clearly happening under load and not on free revving.
