Would you have an opinion on superpro vs powerflex vs polybush compared to genuine bushes? Depending on forum one of the three aftermarket ones tends to be recommended but as more of an universal truth than with a rational explanation attached
I noticed I have a pair of orange polybushes as front lower wishbones rear bushes that the previous owner must have installed but as I’ve never driven without I can’t make a comparison myself.

I find Polybush very firm...
Never used Powerflex
Genuine bushes are fine, but the bushes settle, and wear out, more so on older/higher mileage cars
Have used Superpro with good success in the past. And I have a full chassis set to go on my D3 and the wife's RRS My D3 Build Thread

Thank you - highly appreciated! Perhaps silly question but how do you get the superpro bushes on the front/rear sway (or anti roll) bar? The pictures they have on their web site don’t seem to show a split in the bush like LR015339/LR015336 have. Are you supposed to DIY a split in it with a saw? 8)
I’ve got some clunking in the rear and was thinking of replacing the drop links and bushes since they’re relatively cheap before starting to look at arms..

I know it’s a completely different car but my wife has Powerflex bushes in her Golf R32. They are extremely hard (make a massive difference) but the already stiff ride is bone shakingly hard now. Fortunately it’s a toy but for your car it may make it worse for every day.

There is a split in the bush to tease open to slide onto the bar My D3 Build Thread

Huge difference in handling though. Had a shot of one a while back. Great fun when driving hard, but totally useless for everyday driving
I'll be fitting a full set to my own and wife's car, so prospective customers can have a drive before committing to buying/fitting My D3 Build Thread

Ok - good to know Mounts identically to original bushes and it's just SuperPro's picture which is from a funny angle
http://imageapi.partsdb.com.au/api/Image?u...hy47cZ3FqN (picture from http://www.superpro.com.au/tradeview/index...PF3631-34K)
As there are three sizes for the rear ARB bushes and two for the front ones, how would one know which size to select? Would the bush size need to be identical front and back? If so, only size 34 mm is in common. Would all fit a normal clamp?
I tried JFGI-ing the size of LR original bushes but the internet is surprisingly sparse on the subject.
Update: Reference only - Powerflex rear ARB bush size 30 mm while front ARB is 22 mm. URL http://powerflexusa.com/discoveryseriesiii04-09.aspx

I had to measure mine before ordering
D3 is 22mm rear, and 28-29mm
RRS is 23mm rear and 31mm front
RRS w/ARC is 34mm front and rear
Not sure if V8 petrol are different
IIRC... My D3 Build Thread

Thanks for the strategic measurements
As far as I can tell the part is not engine dependent but is shared across all except armored models which have their own.
LR015339 is the front ARB bush, D3 ONLY
LR018346 is the front ARB bush, D4 ONLY
RBX000571 old front ARB bush, D3, superceded by LR015339
LR015336 is the rear ARB bush, D3 AND D4
RGX500060 old rear ARB bush, D3, superceded by LR015336
RBU500100 is the front clamp, D3 AND D4 AND RRS 05-13
RBU000281 is the rear clamp, D3 AND D4 AND RRS 05-13
I think the RGX and RBX bushes are the ones that got a TSB where it was recommended to insert rubber spacers (LR012410) between the clamp and the roll bar.
I’ll research this a bit more still to get it right...

Just fitted Powerflex bushes on the lower arms and ARB to my 07 D3, it is a much firmer ride but not unduly harsh, I'm running 17" wheels with decent profile tyres so imagine that the less rubber and air between the road and suspension will make the ride quite harsh! I certainly wouldn't want to run 20" wheels with this combo!
The upside is that I'll probably not have to think about changing the bushes again as lng as I own the car... can now spend my cash on other upgrades and toys 😁

I’ve got 255/55R19 tires for both summer and winter. I don’t think a V8 can go below 18” due to size of the brakes. My honest intention isn’t to turn it into a ground hugging RRS and participate in a rap video OTOH it isn’t the intention to make it a swaggering American 80s car, either...
98% of my driving is on roads, 2% off.
