Will D3 mats fit a D4 ?

Finally the much awaited D4 gets delivered on Friday (only 3 fridays late). Its "only" an HSE so no rubber mats supplied and that cream carpet is going to look mucky in minutes with our lot. Will the rubber mats in a D3 fit and would you say its fair game to rob them out of the trade in before handing her over? Its over £200 for a complete new set including load space.

Any are there any mats available to protect the carpet on the front transmission tunnel - all the interior photos of new D4's show that as a very vulnerable area.

I think the HSE comes with "premium carpet mats" (the HSE loaner on the drive certainly has them), but yes, the D3 rubber mats fit just fine...

Thanks guys - £90 gets me a set of mats for the seating area but its another £120 to get a loadspace protector. The premium mats seems to be like a carpet square - not suitable for muddy boots. In fact you could easily make a case for saying the D4 as a whole is not suitable for muddy boots, or sticky fingered kids or wet dogs, clarty mountain bikes, mouldy tents, reeking diving gear, peat filed walking boots and the monthly trip to the tip.

Maybe I should just leave the Disco for those occassional days out when none of the above are involved ?

It decided to have a sleep over with its old pals at the dealer Wink Went in yesterday for tinting, long roof rails and to sort out the rattle under the dash, but the tinting boys were a bit late starting. To give the dealer their due, they did phone me by lunch time to check this would be OK, rather than telling me at 5.30 that the car was still in bits. Just a shame that in the meantime I'd found that the loaner doesn't have the same interesting surge when you first engage cruise control, so now they are going to look at that too!

Mats should be included as part of the deal on a car of this value, total Censored take from the dealer if they are not. Thumbs Up

I can't believe you are spending £40k-£50k on a new D4 and are too tight to spend £200 on some mats!

Get them as part of the deal or just pay the money or steal them from your trade in if you have too.

Mats from the 08my 0nwards D3 are the same as the D4 (LR006237) for the front & second row.

These have the new designed clip already in the cars carpet unlike the earlier where you had to screw some retainers into the carpet through the mat.
Earler mats are the same floor pan design but willl not secure properly allowing the mat to move which is highly dangerous and not advised (see another thread already on the forum about loose mat)

The third row and boot mat are the same design from all D3's and 4's so will transfer over no problem.
