Should my windows close on my D3 when locking with the fob??

Hi all,

Be gentle because this is my first post....

Having owned a D1 for some years, I have now 'upgraded' to a 2005 HSE Disco 3.

Something I am trying to get an answer on is, when I lock my car with the fob, should any open windows shut? My other half has a 2008 Megane which does exactly that so she is enjoying ribbing me at the moment that the Disco doesn't do it. Laughing

I did ask my local dealer yesterday who told me 'they should close', but I'm not sure one way or another. I have seen a thread about D4's doing this witht he global locking, but not much around on the D3.

Any words of wisdom or help would be most gratefully accepted.

Thanks all... Very Happy

..... and in case you start to wonder .....neither do the door mirrors, you have to push the adjustment knob downwards when it is the middle position.

Thanks Bodsy. Ah well, just have to put up with my other half extracting the urine Smile

I'm actually on the border of Birmingham and Bromsgrove.... Actually, I should probably say Worcestershire because we actually come under Bromsgrove...

Welcome Thumbs Up

Id be a bit concerned about your dealers knowledge.

As far as I know the windows never closed or opended with the key fob on any of the D3 models.

you need to upgrade to a D4 for that feature Thumbs Up

I think you can only open the rear tailgate or lower the whole car to "access" height using the key fob but someone much cleverer than me will keep you right

Thanks for all your comments folks. Had a feeling it could not be done on the D3, but yes I was worried about my dealers 'knowledge'.

Got another one to ask.... may put in on a new post as well. With my D3, the time only displays on the radio. My mate has a 2006 D3 and hers shows the time on the LCD display. Is this just a mod for the 2005 to 2006, or do you know if it's a software option? Can't find anything to say with a 2005 you can have it showing on the message centre. Not of this stuff is an issue, but would be nice if it can be displayed on the message centre. It's not an option when I go into the driver setting on MPG, temperature, headlight delay time options....

I'm also a little disappointed that this feature (window closure) was not offered on the D3 - my old P38 Rangie had it, after all ...

You certainly seem like a man in the know Bodsy Smile

No doubt land rover will charge a fortune for a software update as well. Maybe I will wait until my pockets have refilled from buying the thing Wink
