Had my windscreen replaced. National Windscreens on behalf of NFU. Tried arguing for a dealer replacement having read about leaks and bits flying off. Sadly NFU are inflexible on this and insist on NW with a £25 excess.
NW insisted on doing it in the office car park, and would not allow me to take it to the depot. So I was very apprehensive about this work going ahead, but it was so badly holed that it needed doing asap.
Anyway, took them 1hr to do the job, no mess at all, and they used new parts for the trims.
Its not raining today, so I'll keep my coat in the car just in case
edit - Used genuine LR wind screen too.

my dealer replaced one (they actually use a subby windscreen company anyway) required a lot of cleaning afterwards and is still blowing bits of sealant out of the vents a week later.....and has the funny wind whistle now though.
Not sure about the trim, it all looks the same apart from additional greasy fingerprints everywhwere.
No leaks though and it has been out in a lot of torrential rain at high speed in ethe last week!!!! 8) end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

I had mine replaced at the dealership 2 weeks ago. The screen had to be changed because the drivers side 1/3 heating elements had packed up. The job was faultless. TDV6 SE auto, Java / Alpacca

Sounds like the seal ant is missing from part of the sreen edge.
My D2 had a leaking windsreen from new, dealer got a subbie to replace. Wistling sound from base of screen and I could feel the air at speed. Asked for sreen to be removed and installled properly. When I went to collect they had just stuck some sealant over the hole getting black sealant everywhere!
This on a new car! Eventually removed and replaced the sreen, they had to fit a new one as they broke the screen getting it out. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

One thing you must always insist on when changing the front screen is that the A post fixing studs are replaced with new ones. These studs are a "one fit" design and should not be re fitted once removed.
You risk loosing one of your A post trims on the motorway if people try to cut corners. Arctic Frost RR Sport. TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Tow pack, PTI, Privacy Glass, Tasmods, Mudflaps & a RRSport umbrella in the boot.
