Windscreen scuttle panel refurb
Hi
So after removing the wiper arms and panel , gave it a thorough cleaning , slight rub down with some wet and dry
Removed the rear heater air inlet panel, so that as I sprayed it didn’t build up as paint went through the holes
then spent some time ensuring I could hang the panel up in the open and be able to move it if it started raining
Refitted the old clips and used some 4x40 screws to make life easier hanging the panel without it touching it
First coat will be hycote adhesion spray
Will put up progress reports as I move further with it
Thought it better having it’s own thread therefore easier to find
Pics are it freshly cleaned and rubbed down

Well that’s the scuttle panel, heater air inlet and A pilllars have had 2 x coats of the adhesion spray applied
Tomorrow will apply the first coat of grey primer
After the 2 x coats of adhesion spray will now allow it to dry overnight

I did say she’s got 3 x choices
PS , Grandkids Finley and Phoebe, I think had worn candy out earlier , as candy went indoors out the way , , poor souls were even taking a face slobbering, made my day seeing there happy little faces
Think u can tell Finley is one hell of a cheeky little chappy
I’ve done it again, digressed off the original thread, ah who cares

Looks good It’s got me motivated to do my D4, the D4 scuttle is painted with a grey sandy type finish paint, it looks like the previous owner has been very enthusiastic with an snow/ice scraper and fetched the paint off, anyone know what the paint is LR use? - you don’t say on this post exactly what paint you are using.
p.s. mine prepare to watch in a more leisurely style.
It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

It's not painted from the factory M3DPO. It's just black plastic.
gstuart is using the Hycote range of products. Adhesion promoter, plastic primer and bumper black.
