it always seems to be drivers blade that's the issue ... maybe the curve of the screen ?

It's the sun that does them the most damage. Wiper blades are a time based thing, not miles. Buy reasonable brand, no need for gimiky double blades or anything else, and change once a year. I've go Bosch on now, probably nearly a year old, just going off. No squeak, just not clearing quite as well as they did.Richard
