Windscreen wipers. Clunk click every trip?

Picked up D3 on Saturday. Noticed yesterday that wipers (not being used on a dry screen!) make a large "clunk" moving from the vertical position to the right of the windscreen. Almost as if the blades themselves are "flipping over" in a noisy manner.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks

G

Crap blades, aftermarket ones are better, try Valeo UM665s (I think) from www.speeding.co.uk

Do they arms wobble at all? If so, they could have been removed/replaced badly when a windscreen was replaced and worn down the splines. If they don't wobble it will be the blades.

Good luck with that. Make sure they know you have a Disco not a Defender otherwise they will use the super-strong fixing cement on the crown Confused

I had the same wiper problem. Fixed with a new set of blades.

Halfords also sell their own ones, they're better than the original LR ones (almost quiet) but not as good as the Valeo ones. Thumbs Up

Thanks very much everyone. For my first day on the site, this has been a very helpful and speedy response - much appreciated. Perhaps it won't rain much and the wipers will be not that annoying.................. Razz

You might want to consider the wiper blades that Tesco sell. I've fitted their replacements & they are fine. A lot cheaper than the 'named' variety also!

Like many I found the standard fit LR wipers pretty hopeless, then tried the Valeos and to be honest weren't much better..then tried some from Costco for (I think) about £8 each...far better, no noise on the change of direction....

Peace at last.
