Wing Mirror Adjustment Fault |
|
I have a fault with my Electric Exterior Wing Mirrors.
I can get them to move in and out using the Mirror Switch Adjustment Knob but I cannot get them to move up and down.
Pushing the Knob up, to raise the mirror, causes the Mirror to move outwards. Pushing the Knob down results in no movement.
They have also stopped lowering when reverse is engaged.
This fault started with only the passenger side mirror and was intermittent, but now the same fault is in both mirrors and is permanent.
I am thinking that the fault is related to the switch itself and needs replacing?
I do not want to replace parts with no result if possible.
I have searched the web and AULRO threads but could not find any reference to this problem.
It has been suggested to me to squirt of silicone spray using the straw on the can in behind the mirror and where it pivots, which I have done but this has not rectified the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or know of a fix?

Pull the switch out far enough so that you can check with a multi meter and then check voltages on the wires this will tell you if the switch is good.
