Winter is coming now ... And I have no heated seats !
Hi,
This is Ced from France back to the Disco 3 after several other vehicules (BMW X3 SD, Avantime, Mercedes E500, ...).
This time, it is a V8 HSE SEVEN, second hand.
It is just perfect except it has no seated seats and no "pre-heating" system (Wesbaco?).
Do you know if one of those is easy to implement? I heard that the "pre-heating" system existed on some models and that one's just needed to activate it ? Is it true and is it also on V8 ?
Many thanks.

No pre-heater on the V8, could probably add an aftermarket one on though, take a look on the Webasto site
Seat heating elements can probably be retrofitted but again an aftermarket solution may be easier to implement, one of the seat retrimming companies can probably helpThe End

I don't have heated seats either and I believe the webasto heater is not neccessary in a V8. We burn enough fuel to heat our cars, it's the poor TDV6 people that don't put enough wood in the stoove to heat the cabin.
I was in Austria a few weeks ago aand it was just freezing, not really cold, but in about 1 1/2km the heater was gives some heat already.
So don't worry be happy that you drive a V8.Roel

Well, the TDV6 is so efficient it doesn't get hot enough in cold conditions. The V8 could power an entire solar system with it's efficiency So Webasto heater is only fitted to the diesel.Disco 5 HSE Lux

No heated seats You don't know what you're missing The one's fitted in the D3 are better than the one's in my old Granada Scorpio as they don't make you feel like you've pee'd your pants 8)

I had them in my TDV6 HSE but had to take the "winter option" to get them together with heated windscreen. I had heated seats on the front and second row. Good option when you have leather seats, as they get really cold at winter time.
Okay, maybe the V8 is just enough, I'll see when it really gets cold.
I will get my D3 on Friday.
Thanks for your help anyway. My fifth Disco ...

Personally I would not want a petrol pre-heater, the opportunities to lose the car are too great... Cheers
