Winter/Snow and LR3 Windshield Wipers...

Typically, when snowfall is anticipated (or worse, freezing rain), you would stand your windshield wipers up off the glass. My wiper arms on the LR3 only move a few inches....what do you folks in snowy climates do as a work around?

The tradition in the UK for most drivers, is to leave the wipers where they are, start up the motor, turn on the wipers and watch as the thin rubber strip is torn away from the wiper arm Very Happy

Turn off the wipers, get out and scrape the smallest viewing hole possible in the remaining snow \ ice on the windscreen, leaving all other windows covered as this looks 'cool' , then drive along the snow filled roads at normal speeds as if it were a normal day.

Look shocked and surprised after hitting the tree saying things like 'I just didn't see it, guv'

We don't do snow and ice very well over here Rolling Eyes

I think it may be fair to suggest that the response from leafy Surrey is not a UK wide perspective. Snow comes to Surrey about as often as George Bush thinks about Alaska. 8)

Up here in the place we call Scotland (North Briton, Englandshire), we can see significant snow. The answer to your question is simple. We go out and start the car, switch on the heated screen and seats etc, and then go back inside our thatched crofting hut for 5 minutes, huddle round our valve radio and listen to what's happening in the lives of important people like Tony B-Liar and his sister George...
