Disable "Eco" Start/Stop via IIDTool?

Is it possible to set the Eco mode off by default using IIDTool? i'm getting sick of pressing so many buttons every time I start the car. Laughing

I've read it's possible to disable it by removing a battery terminal but i'd prefer to just default to off with the option of enabling it via the button if that's possible Question

You will probably find it automatically disables after a few weeks/months of ownership.

Many of us have the opposite problem of trying to get it to activate again Whistle

What would just disconnecting the stop/start battery do?

I don't find using the stop/start an issue (when it does work!)

If you don't want the engine to stop at a junction or queue then you just don't press the brake has hard once stationary.

Never found the start up to delay me, if it takes a nano second longer to set off, it just means it will be a nano second longer before I reach the car in front and have to stop again.

If the stop/start was needed to assist in reducing emissions it consequently reduced the road tax from the £500 to £295.

However...... if the stop/start activates 10 times per day, then that’s 3650 times in the year which for ease let’s say is a 1 second delay per stop. So over the year its a 3650 seconds delay which equates to 60 minutes or 1 hour. So in effect I save £205 for an hour of my time Thumbs Up

There again, I save £205 if the stop/start doesn't work......... Thud

It's the 'non-pressing hard of the brake pedal' to avoid a stop/start that I am struggling with. This encourages the bad driving practice of creeping forward and increases the risk of not remaining stopped when you intended so to do. Evil or Very Mad

Found today by accident, press the brake pedal, engine stops (as it should) but I don't like sitting with my foot on the brake.
A: not good with the heat build up in the pads on to the disc.
B: I don't like being behind those who sit with their foot on the brake as it dazzles, especially in light rain.

With your foot on the brake, engine stopped, apply handbrake and turn the gear selector to Park, release foot brake, the engine does not restart, when you need to move on, press the brake pedal and select drive and it starts and off you go.

You could always select neutral rather than park, which of course is only one click away from drive. Thumbs Up

I'm pretty sure all stop/start systems work that way. My past 3 cars all did anyway (Audi, Vw & Mercedes).

I'm guessing it's not possible to disable it by default, I can see a use for it in a traffic jam or something like that but it's just annoying at junctions and in carparks.

It should Thumbs Up

Once the engine has stopped, and with your foot still on the brake, select neutral and apply the parking brake. Remove your foot off the brake pedal. (Applying the parking brake isn't a must)

When you wish to move forward you just press and hold the footbrake select drive, apply power, and the parking brake releases automatically (if it had been applied). Thumbs Up
