Wiring loom woes
Hi all
I have the base model 7 seater but would like to add a few upgrades such as heated/electric seats and power fold mirrors auto lights. I have got hold of a HSE loom and most of the components. Would it be better to change to complete wiring loom or just splice into the existing one as I will be fitting an aftermarket head unit so from what I gather I will have no need of the MOST wiring. Any help would be most welcome.

MOST optics are separate and orange tubing.
It may make sense to splice in the seat wiring.
Have a look behind the headliner for auto light wiring and auto dim mirror and rain sense.
A red and a green wire sound familiar.
I personally wouldn't bother with auto lights on these. Come on way too late. And no dash light to tell you there are on! Not worth the hassle!

You can get the electric seats working with the minimum of swapping wires around, the front passenger’s one is plug and play. Drivers needs some wires swapping around to bypass the memory module, unless you want to Retrofit that. Heated is a different story there are some wires missing from The HEVAC to the footwells, taking the individual wires and plugs off the donor loom might be a very easy option, and I think splice in one wire.
Don’t hold me to this but I think all the wires are in place for the rear heated seats just add seats and switches.

Thanks Erea
I did notice on some of the threads about the 6pin missing from the Hevac unit I am kinda thinking I might as well splice in the memory functions as well as my donor loom has this in already. Am I right in my understanding that the D3 info screen has to run through a High line OEM head unit.

I think ( and could be very wrong) that to get the memory seats working properly there is more than just wires needed, I think an ECU of some description is also needed and this talks to the memory module on the seat.

It’s easy to get the drivers seat to work in two second bursts and after a day or two you won’t even notice it but the memory settings won’t work. Unless you have two drivers who are constantly changing the seat position dramatically the two second bursts are unnoticeable.

If you have a wiring loom, you may as well try and get the memory working.
Yeah the LCD requires a high line head unit, and then you usually have an amplifier under the right seat. Just wouldn't bother. Put aftermarket in.

Thanks Pete this is the way I'm going have sourced a tunez unit from the bay with sat-nav dvd and dtv. It seems silly to have to take out the whole interior just to modify the existing loom when I can swap it over admittedly its a fair challenge but with doing my home work I believe its well with in my skills to accomplish ( famous last words eh!)
