On right hand drive automatics there is a large grommet in the spare battery box which covers the hole through the bulkhead where the clutch fits on a manual. Most people seem to thread the cable through that grommet.
I assume that the grommet is still in the spare battery box on left hand drive (auto) D3s

I watched 10fourcash wire mine last week so..
Take the battery out.
Take the fusebox out.
Inside the bottom of the fusebox you will find the connector.
Drill hole in dash and fit switch, sorry no clue where the wires behind it go!
You need autologic or something similar to enable them though.

There is definitely a grommet in the non- battery box side. It's difficult to spot but it's there. Once you have found it, you need a long length (500mm +/-) of stiff wire with a hook on the lower end to hold the wire (s) that you want to drag through. Poke it through and feel around and your reward will be success. There is a photograph somewhere on the forum of the spot. In the same post/topic, there are hints on what you need to prise off on the interior trim to see the wire from the inside.

Ah, from a quick search I've discovered that on some left hand drive D3s there is no grommet - this thread contains some very helpful information though:

I hope it helps

There is a grommet....I have done it last weekend.
Undo the plastic cover in the foot well...first the foot-light (just pulls out) then the two screws (they kinda turn-cilck) and at the center console is a Metal clips, just pull...hard...
Once this cover has been removed you have a better view underneath the dash. you will see the metal bracket that retains your break and at the lefthandside of this you will see lots of cables go thru a grommet towards the engine bay.....
I've cut the noise-isolation carpet (or how do you call this) to have better acces...above this big grommet you will find a small one, the size of a 2€.....Ideal spot to get into the engine bay, comes out just behind the brake-black-big-round-thing...
On my pic where I put my switch for the spots you notice the plastic cover that need to be removed

Hope this helps.

My bulk head grommet had been used for my duel battery display
wiring, but there is a grommet under the drivers seat ( RHD ) on
mine I used. Ran my wiring through it, under the side floor panel
and up. A good dollop of silicone to seal it and has been water tight
to date. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Hi, i found the grommet, the spot lights are ordered and i'll get them in a few days.
i've got an other question about the switch,i've seen that it's possible to use the LR switch (it should be possible to order it ) without the LR loom.
Does anyone used it? and what connections on th back of the swich must be used for a "classical" wiring?
pics would be great!
thanks
