Self-taught rocket scientist 'Mad' Mike Hughes announces launch over California ghost town

The launch is to be near Amboy,. Nearby towns are Bagdad and Siberia, both very apt places for a rocket launch me thinks Whistle

Well he launched and made it back to earth in one piece. I don’t think he got high enough this time to prove his theory

I’m surprised this topic “died” so quietly!
I inherently believe the world is “globe” shaped, but find it hard to come up with a demonstrable fact to kill off any “flat earth” arguments. I have a neighbour who is a flat earth believer, and would dearly like to have a “fact” which would shot down his ridiculous arguments.
The best I can come up with is the concept of a ship sailing away from view, disappearing over the horizon. Obviously the ship would appear smaller as it sailed away, but it would get smaller in proportion, whereas in reality the bottom part of the vessel “vanishes” whilst the top part is still visible, thus indicating it is going over a curved earth (or sea!)
Can anyone else come up with a indisputable fact? When I was at school, we were told about the “Bedford Levels”, which I assumed were in the form of a long straight river, and where the tops of masts of distant yachts were still visible, but the hulls were not.

@Treetrimmer: I wouldn’t waste your time. Some peeps will just dismiss anything you say without a thought as it doesn’t fit with with the rubbish that is in their head.

Get your neighbour to give Mad Mike a ring and after they've discussed the shape of the earth get him to ask where the sun in the sky is then compare with his own. If you can conference in others from around the erm globe/disc and ask them the same then you'd have a pretty convincing argument. Eratosthenes did it thousands of years ago without the tech.
