TBH there certainly could be a lot worse faults, I know they must be annoying though.
When ours dropped to its bump stops, lost speedo, ABS etc while doing 50mph we both looked at each other and laughed, every day a LR dont break down is a bonus lol

For anyone running a D3 out of LR's warranty their are plenty of much more competative warranties out their c.f. LR's, just look in the Finance & Insurance section. The day I can't get a warranty for my 2 D3s is the day they get traded in.

I got the car originally form an Audi dealer in Scotland. They'd taken as PX. Haven't been back to them as all the faults started after their 12 mth warranty expired. I reckon the sollution is Def to flog it before it gets worse. Anyone know how to get the front PDC sensors out of the bumper.
dogexplo - yours soounds even worse than mine. Wheel bearings at 32k is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately the front ones are replaced as full hubs at £100+ per side for the parts alone. Normally I wouldn't believe it but with an LR3 I do.

So all of these faults appeared after the motor was already 4 years old. Did it come with a full service history John ?21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Front parking sensors need the bumper plastic removing. Then they come out from the back. Its more than likely that the wiring has been trapped somewhere behind the bumper plastic, and needs splicing. Not a big job, and easily DIY' able.

Came with FSH and there was nothing to make me suspect that anything was wrong. Slowly but surely it's getting worse. TBH the niggly faults are stopping me from enjoying driving it now. I've lost all confidence in the thing. Every time there's a squeak I'm expecting the worst. It doesn't help when you can't get the parts off the shelft either. Front n/s track rod hadn't arrived after four weeks - front hub to over two. I've had a TD4 for over 100k and nothing wrong at all. The D3 was supposed to be a long term vehicle...maybe Top gear should do an article on used D3's. It would be a long program

I've had the usual bings and bongs and EPB issues as well as these replaced:-
Drivers door lock, inc wiring loom (the new lock wouldn't fit the wiring plug )
EGR's blanked
Drivers door window switch pack
Centre consol Arm rest
Air suspension and Hi/Lo change ECU
Bluetooth Module
But . . . I still wouldn't swap it for any other make, and it is still the BEST car I have owned, nothing else even comes close to it's everyday capability or versatility IMHO
When my current D3 finally wears out, I won't hesitate in buying another (or a D4 8) )Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k

My 08.5 MY needed a new front diff at 6 miles I heard the rumble as soon as i left the dealer forecourt when i bought it new
All cars have faults some worse than others,mine has had numerous suspension faults
But its the best car i have ever had.
It transports the family safely it copes with whatever i can fit in it to carry goes wherever i want to and i grin every time i drive it Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

I bought my 54 plate S 3 years ago.
At 32k it had a new intercooler
At 34k a new turbo,
Then it had new bonnet and fuel cap locks, new tow bar as original had welded on.
Ive had new front bearing at 65k.
Two Air compressor failures.
3 EPB seizures.
Tailgate failure (Locked the dog in!!!)
Rear heated seat wire loom replaced.
Intercooler pipe replaced due to oil leak.
Intermittent radio silence.
Interior door seal loose (still)
New jet heated jet washers.
Front ball joints, bushes, track rod ends all replaced.
But it is still the only car that can carry parcels, my whole family, look good at business meetings, and get me through last years snow when I was virtually the only courier to do so.
90k and Im now awaiting the next adventure!!
Tell me how many 'reliable' euro boxes can do any of that.
When I get enough wedge together I am definately haveing another one.All things shipping, storage, transport. UK and worldwide.

Re parcels and family at the same time, as long as customers don't mind dog slobber!
Had most of these plus 3 out of 4 brake calipers replaced, loads of bushes & ARB stuff, EGRs, gear linkage, door latches etc., lots of it outside LR's warranty. Good thing is I've paid for very little of it as I've always had an extended warranty.

So, in a nutshell - these are the DB's provided you own them under warranty. If not you need a second job to keep them on the road. Think I'm going to swap for a Freelander 2
