When you said that it had put you off LR for life, I take it that you really meant 21 hours? Mr. Green Admit it....you love LRs really don't you? Laughing

On the other hand, I have a 4 year old D3 which obviously has no warranty, it works very well and *is* the DBs....it is used and abused every single day, is off-roaded regularly, has never once broken down and any issues have been solved quickly and relatively painlessly.

I've never once thought that I might not get to my destination in the D3.

And although I would agree that cars should work perfectly until they are at least 30 years old (in our dreams Laughing ), the faults you seem to have are rather trivial (i.e. possibly faulty 25 quid PDC sensor and a clock spring/coupler)....I certainly don't think it's a good enough reason to think about selling it Confused

I don't think that they are serious enough to warrant complaining too much on what is, after all, a 5 year old second-hand car.

Get a decent dealer or independent to give your D3 a good going over to sort out the niggles and then get on with enjoying it Thumbs Up

Hmmmm yea if you buy new !! if i sell my 05 d3 then it would have to be around the same price and land cruisers of that year certainly are not so desireable as the D3.

DSL with your luck if you had a horse and cart the nag would go lame and there would be a plague of Mongolian cart weevils I am shocked the jazz still moves never mind out as complex as a toyboata Snigger

Ps big Dave I recon we could get you in the jazz using a combination of beer bribes and a gas axe to enlarge the apertures as necessary Smile

John if you don’t trust it sell it , but any motor could be a lemon the bits that have failed on yours seem smallish irritations rather than massive fails but it is harder to cope with when it is happening to you. Hope you sort it one way or another Thumbs Up
Don’t worry it is supposed to sound like that...honest

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Erm, i needed a new bearing on my 58 plate after 17,000 miles Big Cry

In fact while we are on the subject, it appears that I am similar to several people on here and nervous to venture into non warranty territory with this particular car. The big problem is, what to swap it for, as I can't think of anything else that fits my family's needs?

The car is out of wearranty in Oct 2011. I'm kind of hoping that everything they screwed up in the factory on the Firday afternoon they built my car (built in late August so I can only presume it was the friday before the bank holiday weekend Exclamation ), goes wrong and then get's fixed while it's still under warranty, leaving me with years of trouble free motoring...... Laughing

If it's still having warranty work required at the same frecuency in Spring / Summer 2011, I'm going to sell it and then probably take my chances on another D3, as I can see from forums such as this that there are trouble free(ish) ones out there.

LR don't build cars on Friday afternoon - it's a cunning way to avoid the Friday afternoon car problem.
