Is it worth breaking?
Hi all, I’ve got a 55 reg HSE which is a bit of a project. Needs a few small bits but I think the r/h head gasket is leaking. I don’t mind breaking it but do people think there’s enough demand for the parts? Or just sell as is?[/b]

If you’ve got the time, space and are organised enough to keep track of loads of bits going to loads of places (SWMBO did that for me) then deffo strip. You’d be amazed at what sells, and what doesn’t, but there’s always demand for parts. It’s pretty easy to strip, if I can do it in freezing conditions with basic tools (if in doubt, cut it out) then a trained monkey on speed can do it.
Well that would be my advice in normal times. No idea if still valid in these weird times.

I think you’ll find demand for parts will be high as new OEM items are pricey.
I’ve a couple of items I’m after if you do decide to strip it down.General Grabber AT3's
EGR Valves Blanked
Aluminium sump guard
Tree/Rock sliders.
Bank Account - Empty.

I did wonder as there getting on a bit now! It’s had a lot of money thrown at it by the looks of the underside! Previously when I’ve broken cars I’ve been left with loads of stuff and regretted not leaving it in the shell when it went for scrap! That’s what I want to avoid really. It’s a nice spec car though so will have bits for upgrades I guess not just replacement items.
